Keyholes in Batik Quilt
Batiks are beautiful and perfect for so many quilts. They are very easy to work with too. This quilt is Keyholes in batik quilt, the name of this beautiful pattern by Heather Mulder Peterson. You can see her work at Trends and Traditions – lots of beautiful patterns and fabrics. This pattern is in her book called Stop, Drop, and Roll.I started this quilt in February and posted it on What’s on my design wall when I was just making the blocks.
This photo really shows the true colors in the Keyholes in Batik quilt. I finished it on April 10th and it measures about 54″ x 54″.
My brother wants me to make a quilt for his camper and I think this might be the perfect pattern.I bought this book from Connecting Threads last week called Living Large 2 by Heather and can’t wait to work on some of the beautiful patterns. Her patterns are well written with some great techniques. I would love to have all of her fabrics and patterns. I sound like a commercial don’t I?
This next photo is kind of silly…..I wasn’t going to post it but what the heck. I saw someone post a photo with their quilt wrapped around them outside in the winter and it really looked neat. So I had my husband take one of me with the Keyholes in Batik quilt (this was in April and it was chilly) and it doesn’t look anything like hers did. Maybe because I’m at least 30 years older. If this makes you smile it was worth posting.
