I didn't want to cut it up so I made some 1/2 inch bias tape from black Kona cotton and top-stitched it down. I know my strips are a little wonky, maybe the Ghastlies have wonky window frames..............
Don't you just love that owl in her hair!
Have you been over to Sew I Quilt - Madame Ghastlie's blog? She has all kinds of neat Ghastlie things going on for the next 2 weeks including giveaways and a blog hop! So go visit.
River view - I realized I haven't posted any pictures of the barges that go up and down the Mississippi River daily. I am so used to them that I don't pay much attention to them. They run until the river freezes in the winter.

Would you believe this is a load of mulch! Look at the steam coming off of it.
The tow pushing all of the barges - we usually just say "There's a barge going up river".

I ADORE your ghastly scene! Love the way you put it together and your quilting. So fun!
Love your ghastly window! Looks wondeful!
My Mom is a cook on one of those boats! Actually she is out on the Mississippi right now! She works on one called "The Paul Blazer" it is a Marthon boat. She travels from New Orleans to St Louis. Actually she is out there right now! Oh how I would love to see a photo if you ever see that boat!

It's me again! LOL! I just realized that you are in Iowa! Sometimes she does go on up but not too often. Have a great day

I think you're absolutely right that the Ghastlies have wonky windows! Very, very cute! :)
The Ghastlies look wonderful done like that....love it...I do wish some of that mulch was coming to me....beautiful view you have there..
What a creative ghastlies project! You should have been on the blog hop!
I have still never seen this anywhere but online in the quilt blogs, but boy there sure a lot of people buying this stuff. It is really cute! I may have to get me some of it :)
You live right on the river? Very beautiful place!
How cute! Your window pane frames are just perfect!! Who would have thought you would ever need that mauve thread again - such a ghastlie color (sorry, I couldn't stop myself).
Thanks for sharing the picture of the barge - that was quite a load.
A perfectly ghastlie use for your ghastlie fabric - I just love it and as always i love seeing what is going on on your little patch of rivver! What a long barge!
Love your Ghastlie 'window'!! I'll have to show my friend who is just finishing her Ghastlie quilt. I managed to snag a couple of fat quarters but haven't decided what to make with them yet.
What a great idea! I just love this fabric, I was eyeing it last weekend at the quilt shop. Looks great!
Love the Ghastly Window! I have no idea what I will do with it but I have to get that fabric! It's so wonderful! Thanks for the link!
Wow! What a creative use of the fabric! And your stippling is superb! Also enjoyed your pictures of the barges...it sounds like a pretty busy river!
Cheeers!
I LOVE THE GHASLTIES!! Kim over at Kim's Big Quilting adventrie did a ghastlies quilt and I have been smitten ever since! You know old houses have crooked window panes! LOL! I love the texture that the bias tape gives the quilt by adding it on top instead of cutting the material!! L-O-V-E!! I'm just sayin!!
I love it that you are addicted to the Ghastlie fabric too! Nice job!
What a fun quilt! Perfect for the season, but unexpected because of the colors.
Of course they'd have wonky window frames -- they've got to live in a ramshackle old mansion that's been settling for the past few centuries!
Great use of this fabric!
Connie...I love how you made the window! That is such a cute idea. I just love the Ghastlies fabric. I really need to make something before I sell it all. LOL
By the way...I did not realize you were right on the Mississippi! I grew up in southeast Missouri and my uncle worked on the barges!
