Phase 2 Quilt Room
Quilting room – phase 2 of remodel

Tomorrow is the big day when Builder Bob removes this closet from my quilt room……gulp! Everything has to be emptied out of the room except the cabinets on the opposite wall that were just put in. Here is that post – Phase 1

He came up this morning with his screw gun in hand and I asked “What are you doing?” He thought today was the day! Nope I said, “you were planning on cutting oaks boards for the new Mission style tables for our bedroom……..I have a couple projects to finish today.” Silly guy!

We are meeting friends tonight for dinner so it will be a short “work” day. There is a casino nearby that has a new special on Wednesdays. All you can eat lobster for $24.95! I’m not eating all day so I can eat plenty tonight!

Phase 2 Quilt Room

See the big cupboard on the left? That is going….I’m going to miss all the storage/hoarder space in that! The big shelves will be moved to the wall where the closet is. I remember 3 years ago when Builder Bob put these in saying….this will never get moved…..little did he know!

Phase 2 Quilt Room

Last night when we decided our plan of attack I started moving my fabric and books to the living room. My dad kept asking where all the stuff was coming from! Wait until tomorrow when the sewing machines are in there! I knew this day was coming so the computer room is already full of stuff. I guess it has to get worse before it gets better!

Today I am going to work on getting these baby blankets quilted.

My next sewing will be in the living room. I may get used to all the wonderful sunlight and view of the river and never move out of there! Wish me luck!

I have never made a baby quilt. Hum. Guess I should quilt at least one.

  2. The baby quilts are so fun; especially love that second one. Looking forward to your new room. I'm in a dark basement so I'm jealous of your space and light!

  3. I'm looking forward to watching Phase 2 unfold! It gets worse before it gets better for me too and I often have to tell myself that to get through it all.

Thanks for stopping by my blog…your room looks great!!! Can't wait to see it finished. Hugs

    Connie,

After you have totally revamped your sewing room, can I move in with you? 😉

    Those baby quilts are sweet!

  6. Oh my gosh Connie! I am SOOOOOOOOOOO jealous. Yea about the sewing room too but I have wanted to go to that all you can eat lobster thing for a long time and we haven't yet. So??? Was it really lobster or were they really langastino's? There was a supper club near us that had a huge Fish Fry on Fridays and advertised having lobster on the buffet but it was really langastino, not lobster as was expected. They were still really good but just not as advertised ya know. I've wondered about the casino. Heck, for months I've been wanting to go to the casino and even more now that one of my boys won three times about two weeks ago – total of all he walked out with $1900 more than he walked in with. He seems to do this often enough that I want to sit next to him at the casino soon. LOL I have a new sewing machine on my wish list. haha

I can't wait to see the room when done. My husband said the same thing pretty much as he was moving in the most recent furniture to my sewing room. THIS, he said is the last time you get new furniture you know that right? LOL HA. yea yea whatever………till NEXT time. haha

Honeyman hates it when I get the bug to move things around! I swear there is nothing light or small in my house anymore to move LOL!! But it will be SEW worth your current 'mess'! Can't wait to see what magic Builder Bob comes up with!!

  8. How exciting – you will have a sewing room of your dreams!

  9. Susan At Glen Oaks Primitives says:

Hi, Connie – the baby quilts are so pretty. I would stay in the living room, too from what you described.
What a nice setting it must be.
    Hugs,
    Susan

  10. This is going to be wonderful. I am jealous : )

  11. Can't wait to see the finished phase two! You have some great space there! Hope you enjoyed the lobster…and I love your little quilt…beautiful fabrics!

  12. Good luck with phase two ,all that work will be worth it in the end . Cute baby quilts!

  13. Denise :) says:

Cheers and best wishes for Phase 2! Your baby quilt fabrics are lovely — have fun stitching away in the living room (although I would worry that the view would distract me from accurate 1/4" seams — LOL!)! 🙂

  14. What a fantastic room you're going to have when this is all done. I would kill for that storage space! LoL Happy quilting! :o)

  15. good luck with the renovations in the sewing room- can I please borrow builder bob – i promise to feed him!

  16. Good luck with the un/construction process. I'm sure it will be a little akward to sew in a different room at first but, like you said, you may never leave the Living Room 🙂

  17. Good luck with the closet removal! Looking forward to seeing the results.

  18. Adorable baby blankets (love the colors). Look forward to seeing the next Phase of your sewing room.
    Enjoy your lobster Connie!!

  19. I feel your pain and your joy. On these winter days, I'm drawn to the light of our living room, instead of to my crafty corner in the basement… I do have a window down there, but it's as if I'm craving/addicted to the light! It's been fun watching your progress.
