61 Years old today

Somebody has a birthday today! Okay, my sewing machine and I were both born in the same year but I don’t know the exact date so I’ll just pick my birthday. Now if you take the time to look at “our” pictures you might find a giveaway at the end.

61 Years old today

I’m getting to the age where having pictures taken just isn’t as much fun as it used to be………

61 Years old today

My 15-91 Singer and I are showing a little wear and tear but….we’re both still running working!

61 Years old today

A couple of weeks ago I was reading about taking a self-photo of yourself and you are supposed to turn your head 45 degrees…..I don’t know about that………..notice a little difference in hair color…this was taken a couple of days ago.

I figured I had better color my hair as it was getting pretty light and the roots were grey. Yep, my hair is really grey but have you ever tried to quit coloring your hair….my niece is a stylist and she said the only grey they have is a Chrome color which doesn’t sound very good and every time I start to grow it out I go crazy.

61 Years old today

I have decided that I prefer photos like this one, far, far away – by the way this is the new downstairs bathroom. This way you can’t see all the wrinkles…..my face is starting to look like the bathroom wall….we’re not even going to talk about my body.

Truthfully I am very grateful to have another birthday, good health and plenty of quilting projects to last me another 30 years!

I figure as long as my family is still around and wants to be with me that those icky signs of old age don't matter that much. Well, they do to US but at least we're still breathing right?

Have a great weekend. Eat some cake for me. I'd like chocolate please. 🙂

  22. Happy Birthday Connie! You and your machine look wonderful. Your niece does a great job with your hair. I wish mine looked so thick and full. I have thin hair and I alway wish they were thicker. Hope you all stayed safe threw the storms that pasted through last night.

Well, Happy, Happy Birthday to the two of you! You both look pretty great to me. I'll be 57 this year. Last year, I made the big switch from being a blonde to letting the eau-naturale gray make its appearance. I like not having the hassle of coloring every 3 weeks and I can say that I'm happy with the true color God gave me for these graceful years. Enjoy your special day and be especially blessed at this wonderful time of your life!! Kathy

  41. Many, Many, Happy Returns to you on your Birthday Connie 🙂 I hope you had a wonderful day yesterday.
I love your machine, both you and your machine do some beautiful work!!
The machine I have that is closest to my age is my Singer Featherweight 222K. She was born in Aug 57 and I was in Aug 55.
I had my haircut the other day and finally got the last of my colour cut out. I am now my natural colour of blended grey, silver and dark brownish. My mum will have a fit when she sees me 😉 LOL..
    All the best! Elly

  42. …..and another happy wish for your BD. I started getting a few white hairs when I was 17! Dyed it for years. What a hassle! Now I'm all grey and love, well like it. Less time coloring hair equals more time to sew! Would love to win that beautiful material.

Happy Birthday to both of you! I know exactly what you mean about the coloring your hair. I was a blond until mid twenties then after having my children my hair started to get a darker, then many years later it became more of a light brown. Now with the greys, I don't recognize myself so definitely a bottle color was needed. Was able to stop coloring for several years but yuck! with my blond complexion, it just made me look so old that I've been coloring ever since. Jane

Happy Birthday to both you and your sewing machine. I have one about the same age–it's a powerful machine but I use it much less now that I prefer to treadle. 101. You do not look at all like a 61-yr. old anything! haha I can relate to trying to quit coloring the hair. I actually did succeed and I've noticed (a couple of years after I quit coloring) that I don't have as much gray hair as I thought. That first 6-8 months after I quit coloring it was a real shocker though. It's just too high maintenance for me. Happy Birthday to you! Hope you have a great weekend.

  130. Happy Birthday, we have a couple things in common – birth year and having a machine made the same year. (My 61st was a couple months back in Feb.) When I worked I needed to be clean shaven, so now that I've retired decided to let the facial hair grow – its coming in white. Everyone thinks I should be Santa this year – will see. Thanks, … in northern Iowa.

  131. Happy Birthday! I have been trying to grow my hair out too-not successful yet. I decided to put a lot of highlights in to see if that makes it any easier.

  132. Happy Birthday. I love your machine and a happy birthday to it too. 155. Sarah in Australia says:

Happy Birthday Connie! We have a birthday in the same week (mine is 9th). Let me tell you I have some grey hairs, a couple of wrinkles and the body …. well we won't go there. And I'm 35! Hope you had a great day. I would love to win your giveaway.

  156. Happy Birthday! I just turned 63 last Saturday. I avoid looking at myself too closely but yesterday while out shopping I accidently looked in a mirror and thought "who is that woman? It can't be me!" I too am happy to be healthy and alive. I've already lost two younger sisters. Hugs! Toni

  157. Happy Birthday Connie!! it's fun to actually see a picture of a blogger, (I often discount the little pic on the side under the bio, it's so small and posed)
I'll just say I thought you were a lot younger!! 🙂 You don't look your age.

  158. Donna Joy says:

  159. Happy Birthday Connie! I want to know….if I hold my head at 45 degrees does that mean this sagging double chin will be hidden? Because if it does I'll practice that faithfully! Blessings, Marlene
