Goldenrod Strings

Sometimes I have so much fun teasing Builder Bob......this is my block for the May Scrappy Rainbow Challenge. Obviously the color was yellow.

I acted all excited and told him I was starting another quilt for our bed, then I showed him this block. Well we may be a "old" couple but we have only been married 4 years so he was trying to act like he really liked it. Then I told him I was just teasing and you could see the relief on his face.
Of course I wasn't done teasing him so I laid out these 5 blocks and said this is was the quilt is going to look like..........again he is trying to act like he likes it but isn't doing a good job. I told him not to worry as there will be 7 more block added in different colors.................I don't think he is looking forward to this quilt!

I can't wait to see what the color will be for June!

I am so sorry for Builder Bob, but I love the yellow...they are all beautiful and I want to make a string block so badly...but that yellow is scrumptious! Now I can't wait to see what next month's color is! The funny thing is, I was never a fan of yellow until last year...now it think it brightens up anything you put it in. Thank you for always sharing your creativeness with us!

Love all of your string blocks! It appears you will be doing them Quilt-As-You-Go style - I will be watching with interest to see the final assembly. I like all the different quilting styles as well!

Love your block!! I am hooked on making string blocks too. I've got a selvage string tote I made up on my blog. String blocks are so addicting!

Your string quilt will look great. I love that you have been quilting the blocks differently. I love the circle on the neutral and the wiggly line on the yellow.

Well, your piecing & quilting are beautiful. Other than that...ummm...let's just say I loooooved the last one, no so much this one. I cannot imagine how they'll all go together in the end. Maybe each one of you could pick one color, then swap around so that all your blocks are the same color, but different, if ya know what I mean. Like, you get all yellow (ok, blue), and someone else gets all purple, then someone else gets all red, etc...until you're all done. Or not. I'm sure y'all will come up with something surprising & pretty!!

Hey, BBob...I hear ya!! :)
