Yesterday Builder Bob needed an assistant on building a small front porch for some friends. Her house was about a hour away so we took the trailer and all of his tools and got to work.
See that row of blocks along the driveway………….well I helped level that out and put the blocks down with our friends while Builder Bob started on the porch…….about a half hour into the job I somehow went to put one of the blocks down and caught my finger under it. I thought it just pinched it until the blood started running all over the place.
Now what does a good blogger do??? We went in the house and washed it off and then I grabbed my camera and had Dee take a picture.
Kind of a blurry picture……my hand was shaking while she took it. We cleaned it, bandaged it and of course I had to go back to work. Builder Bob thought I needed stitches but it really just tore the skin. He was a sweetie and DIDN’T mention that I was supposed to be wearing my leather gloves……….I put them on for the rest of the day.
This is how much was done by the end of the day. The infrastructure always takes the longest and Builder Bob is very fuzzy about making sure everything is square. Dee went with composite deck boards and there will be vinyl railings. The steps will span the entire width.
He went back today to finish it up and guess what? I didn’t have to go since I was “injured”. I’ll have to wait until the next time I go there to show you the finished front porch.
Here is my finger today, not a good picture again, I should have waited for my grandson to wake up but half the day would have been gone 🙂 I’m trying to get some air to it and had a huge wad of gauze around it but I couldn’t type my post so I carefully put another bandage on it. As soon as I’m done with this I’ll go back to the gauze.
I’m back on dog/puppy duty and am hoping to get some piecing done.
We are supposed to get some hot and humid weather starting tomorrow and lasting about a week…….good time to stay indoors and sew!
