Lazy Day and truck update

Lazy summer days............we just can't keep Simon off of the end tables......now seriously...does that look comfortable?
Bella seems to love hanging off the end of the couch or sleeping in the bath tub.
Bo is still unsure of all of us, even after 6 months. At least the cats are getting along better.

All of a sudden we have mice in the house! We have never had them and my brother next door has them too. I wonder if the mice are looking for a cooler place since it is so hot outside........and we have 3 cats........something is wrong with this picture!

I am getting ready for the Think Christmas Blog Hop which will start next Monday! My day on the hop is Wednesday, so be sure and stop back. I'll have the list of other blogs taking part each day or you can click on the link above to see the full schedule. Madame Samm and Lesley have been working hard on it!

Pets on Quilts will be starting August 2nd so get some pictures of your pets on quilts or a quilt with pets on it!!

Update on Builder Bob's truck: Last week he had front end work done and unfortunately was never told that he had to bring it back in after 100 miles to have the lug nuts torqued. Builder Bob can build a house and do electrical work but he is the first to say he isn't a mechanic.

We picked up the truck today and there was no charge, not even for the towing or all the work the guy had to do yesterday and things that needed replaced. Builder Bob tried to pay him something but he wouldn't accept anything. Now we know that after another 100 miles to take the truck back in.

I've got a lot of things I want to work on but.........we're heading to the Quad-Cities today for some errands and then dinner with friends........tomorrow I sew!!

Was glad to hear that Bob didn't get hurt and I was wondering about the front end work contributing to the wheel coming off. Glad to hear that they didn't charge anything to fix it. Cats are a hoot - Cricket sleeps on the quilt that's in process and the toliet seat stays down for her to sleep on. Have fun on your mini trip and am looking forward to the hop and Pets on Quilts. Hey! Don't buy all the sewing machines! Save some for me!

Glad to hear the truck was okay and that they didn't charge for the additional work. That's good customer service!
I think Bo's problem is he is a yellow cat in a white cat world. :D

Kitties look most comfy! Someone close to you probably cleared away some land or debris behind a shed or something and that is why the mice came inside. Give the kitties time, they will eventually see a mouse and then it is Game On!

So glad Bob was ok and that they fixed the truck up! You need another orange kitty to be Bo's pal...LOL

I'm not sure my cat(s) would know what to do with a mouse. As it is, I only know that there is a bug or a spider in the house because they stare at it. No pawing, playing, or capturing.....just staring. Cats are a hoot, aren't they!?

Might can cure your mouse problem. Check all pipes entering your home, if there is space between the solid wall and the pipe, that is where mice can get in, take a brillo pad, cut in half and stuff it around the pipe till there is no room for even a bug to come in, will stop the mice as they can't get thru the pad, sure had worked for me for years. I think you need to have a talk with the cats about keeping up their end of the bargain - you feed them and love them and they are supposed to be free pest control. Although in all honesty my cat would probably run away from a mouse if one crossed his path! Big wimp!

Glad to hear Builder Bob's truck is ok. Sounds like a great mechanic who put things right for no charge... the best thing is Bob wasn't hurt when the wheel came off!
Your cats are such a hoot. Love seeing their pictures. Recently my kitty has taken to the bathroom... because it is cooler in there? I have to make sure the 'lid' is always closed or she falls trying to "inspect" the area. So funny.

Glad to hear Builder Bob's truck is back in working order and that the mechanic covered the work. I never heard about having the lug nuts re-torked after 100 miles. Loosing a tire is super scary, glad he is ok.
Funny about the mice, we have a mole problem in our yard. That is, we used to. My neighbors cat has decided our yard is her yard so she has helped clear up out problem, but I am not a fan of the presents she leaves at the door for me.

My daughter loves to see the kitty pictures. She just wishes that we could have a few too.

So great about Bob's truck. The shop used is awesome to not charge for the towing too. You don't hear that very oten. Great they didn't charge for any of the repairs.

Maybe you need to create some little quilts for your new visitors and welcome those little mice into the home. The way your cats love those quilts the second they hit the floor for pictures maybe they'll notice the mice and do their jobs. LOL We tend to get mice in our home later in the year, closer to fall but I've wondered if we'll see the signs of a few earlier with the heat. Across the street from us is a big open field with lots of trees so animals like being there, especially with the fact we have a huge lake at one end. It's a very popuplar lake for scuba divers which come from all over to dive and there are people that move into the trailer area for the entire summer as well. They have a full service bar and restaurant and of course, the snack shop for the swimmers that come daily to the lake to swim. But the animals love the lake area closest to our home as it's not used yet by anyone so they can go there and not be bothered. Sadly, it means we get the critters of all sizes from moles to deer in our yard at times. I don't mind the deer since they just come to steal apples from our tree but I can totally do without the moles and mice. OH and the groundhogs I'd be very happy to see gone. One dug a home deep into the area which used to be my garden and no matter what, he will not go away. ugh. But, yes, mice. ick. My mouser cat died a number of years ago. Baby, the Ragdoll seems to think doing anything but looking pretty/regal and sleeping is beneath his character. He'll go to the spot he's seen them, then go across the room and lay there staring over to the area he saw something for hours but that's it. I think my Ragdoll is part Pointer. LOL

With you being so near the river I'm surprised you haven't seen more mice. Is it possible they're coming in now with the screening that was installed in the back of your home facing the river? Those little stinkers can get inside in spaces smaller than we can even notice and chew through almost anything I swear. I cringe when we see the signs of the first one in the Fall. Good luck getting rid of them.
