Design Wall Monday

Pin It I enjoyed a weekend with a dear friend.....just the two of us catching up on things and enjoying ourselves. Lots and lots of girl talk.....how fun! We also did some shopping! Talking about shopping.....have you seen all the specials AccuQuilt has going on right now! Click on the link to see all the deals!

I have my last string block done for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge, there are now 12 quilted blocks done that I will put together using a "quilt as you go" method but I don't think this will get done until after the first of the year. The block was to be grays and blacks......I don't have much in my stash that is gray so I used all blacks.

When I got home yesterday afternoon I had this crazy idea to use silver thread on my black background, thinking it would look like snow....or a windy snowstorm. This is for my Holiday Lane blog hop project I'll show on the 23rd. As you can see......I've got some stitching to remove before then.

The Holiday Lane Pillow blog hop will be starting Wednesday.
I also have another new project I want to start on and when I was at my daughter's last week I hit a sale at Hancocks where their Olfa products were 50% off. That was a great time to buy some fancy blades and a new cutter. I just love getting a bargain!

It sounds like it was a fun get together. Nothing like a little girl talk.

I like the black. It will make a nice addition with the other colors.

LOVE this play with black fabrics!!!!! I know it will be awhile, but I can't wait to see this quilt come together next year. I plan to make some QAYG rainbow string during next year's rainbow challenge.

I LOVE the wienie dog fabric in this block. :D I wienie dogs are my 'forever' pups and this fabric is just adorable!! I have never seen it before. Soooo cute. :) And I love the silver thread for the quilting---it really does look like the wind is blowing snow. :)

Love the different Olfa blades - I have one that "pinks" the edges. Way easier than pinking shears!
Sure hope B.Bob is feeling better these days.
