I finished this quilt the other day, I think it was my only large quilt done in October. I actually pieced this a year ago after seeing something similar at a friend’s house. The colors I choose were all from my stash and all I could see what the lime green in each block…..which I didn’t care for. So…….it got stuck in the UFO pile.
This quilt is about 68 x 84 and is a type of log cabin block. I like it better now that it has been quilted and washed. Builder Bob loves it…..I keep seeing Key Lime Pie when I look at it so Key Lime Logs seemed a perfect name for it.
Here is the back of it, I love being able to use up my stash for backings.
I pieced and free motion quilted it on my 15-91 Singer Sewing machine.
We had a scary time this week…..Builder Bob complained of some shooting pains up the left side of his head and the next morning he had a twitch in one eye and one side of his face looked swollen and he said it felt numb. He lost a filling a few weeks ago and we figured it was an infection from that so he went to the dentist. After a x-ray which showed nothing wrong the doctor thought Bob had had a stroke.
We immediately went to the hospital, he had a CT and chest x-ray and found out that he has Bells Palsy which is a paralysis or weakness of the muscles on one side of your face. He hasn’t been sick so have no idea why he got this. He is on steroids and a antiviral drug, it may take as long as 4 months for his facial muscles to get better. It really looks like he has had a stroke and since it affects his mouth and tongue he is having a hard time eating but we are very, very thankful it wasn’t a stroke.
The Blogger’s Quilt Festival is going on now and I would love to have you vote for my Intertwined by the River Quilt. I am waaaaay down towards the bottom – # 367 – you can vote here.
