Scraps into Mug Rugs

Pin It I made some little Christmas mug rugs from the leftover pieces from my tree skirt. Each time I sewed the muslin square onto the red strip I sewed another seam and kept all the mini half square triangles. I squared them up to 1 1/2 inches and then used them for the mug rugs.

There are a  couple green prints that I used in a table runner. I was going to show a tutorial on this runner but with Christmas almost here I think I will wait until after the holidays when everyone has more time. I also want to change it a little bit.
If you missed the tree skirt post you can find it  here.

Those look so cute, Connie. The runner is delightful as well. I have a little stash of the 1 1/2 inch HSTs that I keep saving. Maybe I should try a few of those as I am going to need a whole lot more for any sort of quilt!!!

Super cute. MugRugs make such great little gifts and are usually quick to make. Good use of the cut-a-ways. Waste not, want not, eh?!
I have some little 1" HST... I should mail them to you... you'd make something clever out of 'em.
