Aurifil January Block

Pin It I finished my block for the Aurifil Block of the MonthErin Russek is the January Designer of the month and the block is called Jumping Jack Flash.  I can't believe I waited until the last moment to make it!! I used all batiks in it.

We are very fortunate to enjoy watching lots of Eagles along the Mississippi river. They are such beautiful birds.

I had to zoom in with my camera to get this photo after I carefully and quietly tried to get as close as I could. The eagles spend a lot of time out on the ice near open pools of water.

This photo is when I first saw the eagle and then tried to get as close as I could.

I'm about half way done with piecing the new Nyan Cat quilt, the backing is ordered and should be here within the week so I decided to take a little time off and make a little something for Valentines Day that I will share tomorrow. We got a couple of inches of snow yesterday and now the temperatures are supposed to start dropping.

I love your fabric choices in that block!

My friend lives along the Fox River near Aurora and she watches the eagles with a telephoto lens from her house on the hill. I'm glad there are so many nesting places in the midwest for them.

These blocks are really nice - I love the strong design. And as usual, your choice of batiks really makes it sing! What a great shot of the eagle! I've never seen one, only pictures. It would be an awesome thing to actually see one. He looks fierce :*D

We have a pair of eagles spending a lot of time on our lake shore this winter... I guess the ice fishermen must be leaving them frozen treats~
