Tangerine Easy Street

Pin It My small Easy Street quilt is done and when I look at all that orange.....I think of tangerines....so this is Tangerine Easy Street. It was only 3 above yesterday when I decided to brave the weather so I could get some photos by the river.  My plan was to hang the quilt over the bell but......the way the wind was blowing....my quilt would have ended up in Illinois. The ice thaws then freezes...then repeats and you get all of these neat layers.

This quilt is 50 x 72, whenever I finish my Easy Street with the purple, green and teal, you'll see the actual size that was Bonnie's mystery quilt. It will be big!

I experimented with this quilt by trying to do large stippling on it......I find that so much harder than doing my usual small stipple quilting.
Large stipple quilting
I laid the quilt on the king size bed to give you an idea of the size, I love the colors in this.

Since this was a scrappy quilt from my stash.....well okay I did buy a few of the black on white fabrics....anyway, the backing is all pieced from stash fabrics. The light print is actually a yellow floral print.
Back of the quilt
I kept these two little munchkins entertained with another quilt, I wish I could have showed what happened next when Bella jumped on top of Simon....but the photo was a blur! Enjoy your day.

Now I like this size so much better - looks fabulous in the tangerine! Oh, furries - such fun.

I really love that one...the colors are just perfect. And I'm sure the fur baby antics help you in hysterics.

Great photos as always. I'm not a fan of orange, but love your tangerine street and I think the quilting is a great choice for this pattern.....as nothing much will show on all the prints.

I'm way behind on mine. Did you only make half of the recommended pieces for each part? I'm thinking that would be the best route for me if it still ends up looking this good!

Fabulous Connie. I so love the colors.

A beautiful quilt Connie. I love the colours. I can't wait to see your purple, green and teal quilt.

I am trying a large stipple quilting at the moment and finding it very difficult. I will give small stipple quilting a go otherwise the quilt will end up a UFO.

Gorgeous quilt, Connie. I find it difficult to change the size of my FM also - I suppose it is muscle memory that does it. Love the kitty photos - you can see Bella is contemplating the "attack" on Simon.

I agree that the large meandering is harder than the smaller version, on either a domestic or a longarm.
Your yellows and oranges are so "hot" maybe they will melt the ice!

Love your Tangerine Easy Street!!! It's so bright and happy! I simply cannot do a large meander! I think there's a size that seems to suit me and that is where I do the best meander :*) Love the playful kitties too!

Your quilt is just beautiful. I love the bright happy colors. The large stipple looks great. What would we do without our little furry friends. They add such joy to our lives.

Your Easy Street is gorgeous Connie! Great outdoors shots too. Do you put something underneath to protect the quilt? Just curious.
I had a good giggle at the pictures of the kitties. They look so mischievous.
