My June finish is a quilt that was actually started in 2011. I made a smaller one in batik and gave it to my daughter and kept planning on making a larger one for our bed. I had almost all of the block made and had it stuck in my UFO pile……you know…..another unfinished project.
I decided to list this quilt with Melissa at Sew BitterSweet Designs as my June finish so I would definitely have incentive to get it finished.
Here was the quilt June 1st before it was quilted and my post.
This quilt is HUGE! Here it is on our king size bed and I just put the pillow shams up so you could see that the quilt really covers the whole bed. The size is 94 x 94.
This first time I made this quilt was April of 2011 and you can read about it here.
I included a orphan block on the back of the quilt and 2 different fabrics. I used Warm & Natural batting and since my batting was only 90 inches…..I had to do some piecing. I also used So Fine thread on this quilt and it quilted very nicely.
I had to include a photo of the quilt on my frame with my vintage 15-91 Singer sewing machine. I only have about 3 1/2 inches of room to quilt so I just did a meandering stitch.
I am linking this to A Lovely Year of Finishes – be sure and check what everyone else has finished this month!
