I’ve been making little Bowtie quilt blocks, Crossroads quilt blocks and a couple stars…..actually I’m just playing without a particular design in mind. If you like Bowtie quilt blocks, you definitely have to check out my post about the Bow Tied quilt block tutorial!
I also just finished up my teal scrappy blocks….where did the month go to! I will link up with ScrapHappy Rainbow Scrap Challenge. Check my Crossroads tutorial with directions for all 3 sizes if you would like to make some.
I also finished up teal spool and realized I never made a yellow one last month so I’ll have to work on that. One of these days I’m going to have to put all of my spool blocks into a quilt top!
I recently made a little Bow Tied quilt project tutorial that has been popular.
Last Thursday my daughter and I went to dinner at TGI Fridays in Moline, IL and had to go down on the docks to look at the lily-pads.
It is so neat to see the water sitting on the lily pads.
We took a walk along the bike path that goes next to the river, we walked down past the bridge and took a look at the new Kone building.
We came around a corner and saw this beautiful German Shepard barking at the huge stick…..we were laughing and before I could snap a picture the dog picked up the stick and followed his/her master.
I have no idea how long the dog carried the stick as we were going the other way.
We are still having beautiful cool weather so I’m not sure how much quilting will get done today. I have to run to the library to return books for my dad and pick out some new ones. It is always a challenge to find books I think he will like and…..hasn’t already read.
Maybe I’ll make a quick stop at the quilt store which is close to the library…..and then I may just come home and work outside on my project of trimming the bushes and trees along the river.

Oh, I am with you, it is so hard to stay inside when the weather is cool and nice. I live in the deep south so Spring and Fall are not good quilting times, but great reading times. I like you spool block (teal) and Crossroad blocks. thanks for the tutorial.

Funny about the dog barking at the "stick" (?) I'm guessing he was trying to tell his master that it didn't belong where it was so he decided to pick it up and move it! Strong jaws on that dog!

Your blocks are very pretty, and your daughter has beautiful red hair! I laughed at the dog pictures. That's more like a branch than a stick. So funny!

Sounds like the soft, sweet activities of a good life Connie! I absolutely love books, but I have a terrible time choosing books for someone else. Looking forward to seeing what you do with those fun blocks – your ingenuity always amazes me :*)

That sweet dog doesn't carry stick but a whole tree! Mine doesn't carry sticks but loves balls and can sleep tennis ball in his mounth. x Teje
