Another UFO (unfinished object) is done! In May I showed 4 quilts that needed to be quilted and I am tickled to say that I have finally finished up the last one. You can read about them here. Is this my last UFO???? No way! Every time I start cutting and sewing I seem to start at least 3 projects for every 1 that I finish. That’s okay, I like working that way.
This pattern is called Flowers for Nana Girl and was in Kim Brackett’s book called Scrap-Basket Sensations. I have a mixture of very old fabrics and a few new ones. When I finished piecing this quilt I didn’t care for it at all….my colors/fabrics looked so bland. I actually like the way it looks now that it is quilted.
Here is a closer photo of the green print that I used. I am now down to just little scraps of it. Even though it is old I still love all the delicate little flowers in the print.
I quilted this on my quilting frame, it wasn’t a very big quilt but I thought it would be fun to try out a small one in the frame.
The back had to be pieced and I just added another old green print from my stash.
The size of the quilt is 42 x 51. Here is a photo of the quilt after I washed and dried it.
Closeup after it has been washed. I remember making my daughter shorts and a top out of that pink fabric with the shells on it………years and years ago. That was when I was making store models for a fabric store I worked at.
This afternoon we are going for a boat ride and then eating 50 cent chicken wings at Ducky’s in Andalusia, Il. We will go slow and it will take about a hour to get there and another hour to get back. Our weather is absolutely beautiful, the humidity is gone and the temperature is in the 70s. My kind of weather!
