I couldn’t resist putting this candy cane frame on the photo of my new table runner. Does the fabric look familiar?????? I am down to one little scrap of this cute red fabric from Happy Town by Jacquelynne Steves – this was probably my favorite fabric of the whole group.
I played with a couple blocks and came up with this design while using……the last of the scraps.
I didn’t have enough fabric for the binding so I looked through my stash and found a piece that I think came from Connecting Threads and matched pretty good.
I like it! I used 2 1/2 inch binding, sewed it to the backside and then folded it over to the front and top-stitched.
Quilting was done on my vintage 15-91 Singer.
I actually finished this last week and didn’t get a blog post up about it. Here are just a couple more blocks that will end up in…….something. It is always a toss up for me……is my favorite color red or orange?
This week I have been working on……the river front. This is a photo I took a couple weeks ago when we were out on our boat. These are the houses just down from us and I have been having fun clearing the trees and brush. Unfortunately there is poison ivy growing in a couple spots and I sprayed it two weeks ago and then again yesterday. I hope I’ll get most of it now.
You can see where I sprayed and I have spent the last two mornings clearing on the right side….where there isn’t any poison ivy.
Our house in behind the tree in the left of this picture, it will be fun to take another picture once I have the shoreline cleaned up. Yes…..the neighbors think I am a little crazy.
