The weather outside is frightful….rain, now sleet and it is supposed to snow. I want Spring and flowers!! I’m not sure what I’ll work on today – I have lots of projects going on.
I might work on putting the rows together of this hexagon peony quilt that I started here. It turns out I didn’t have as much of the fabrics as I thought…..so I’m not sure what size this quilt will be.
I also pulled out another AccuQuilt die called Snowball which will makes a 6 inch block. While Bob fixed dinner last night (what a guy) I cut out blocks for a baby quilt and I might work on that.
Note: this die will not work with the Go Baby, it is too wide, you will need the GO.
See the little corner pieces….if you sew 2 together you get a perfect little 2 inch finished half square triangles. I really, really like this die!
My batik barns are all quilted and it is time to put the blocks together. I’ll share more on that as soon as I figure out what I am going to use as the sashing. This is my quilt to finish for A Lovely Year of Finishes
We went to town two times this weekend and I took advantage of Jo-Ann’s 50% coupons. I picked up 2 bundles of batik fat quarters as I have bought some before and am happy with the quality. They do have some batik jelly rolls that are awful in my opinion. I bought one and ended up throwing it away as it was so thin.
I also picked up a new Art Quilting book, e-books are fine but…..I still prefer the feel of an actual book in my hands. I don’t have an iPad and looking at stuff on my phone just doesn’t work for me. I have several on my computer but I guess I’m old fashioned.
The batiks were in 2 bundles, one was the soft colors and the other was the bright. I’m not sure what I’m going to use them for yet…….
I have been spending a lot of time playing in Photoshop CC and Illustrator and this was made from the photo above after some cropping and filters. I can spend all day doing this. What I really need to do is put the new ink cartridges in my printer and print something. I did a pastel version that I really liked too.
Well I guess this shows you some of the things I’ll work on this week…..of course I always seem to throw in a couple other projects. I am linking with Judy at Patchwork Times
