Happy Easter everyone! We have a beautiful sunny day for Easter this year. It will be a quiet day celebrating it with Bob’s mom who got here yesterday. She is still sleeping but when she wakes we have a little Easter basket for her and a card from someone special.

Flowers and Easter Basket on table

The former owners of our house had beautiful flower gardens at one time. There is a spot in the backyard that we are planning on making into a firepit area and right now are just putting the branches from trees there. I didn’t realize there were daffodils planted there.

I picked some for the bouquet on the table and will make sure to dig them out and transplant them after they are done blooming.

I really love lawn ornaments…..must be my age! We bought this beautiful metal crane last week and put it in the backyard by the bird feeders and water. It hasn’t scared the birds at all!

Not much quilting going on, I had these little strips of fabric that I sewed together and was going to make some placemats but ran out of time. That is the cute little rabbit from my Patchwork Rabbit. I’ll be able to get a head start on next year’s Easter project!

These are the table runners that I am making with the same fabrics. I finished the smaller one and decided to make a longer one but I’m not happy with the color of fabric I used to the sides. I think I prefer the lighter cream fabric.

I took a photo of the daffodils next to my Raw Edge Daisy Pillow, which is the yellow that would have been perfect for the daisy.

I couldn’t resist showing you this new photo of Mr. Mickey. He is the strangest dog, if you put a towel on the floor…..he will lay on it. Notice the Easter stickers on the glass door? Two times he ran into the door when he was outside, now that I have done this he knows the door is closed.

  1. I like the red sides on the second table runner. Makes me think of summer and watermelon. It would be cute for an outside table. Maybe bind it in watermelon green. I have a question for you. How do you manage your lovely pieced bindings? Specifically, how do you manage the bulk of a joining seam in the binding when it lands in a corner? I’m looking at the brown section of binding on the far-right of the table runner with the cream sides. Your corner looks so nice. When I use a single-fabric binding I usually only have 2-3 seam joinings to distribute and can easily plan to avoid getting a seam in a corner. But with a multi-pieced binding, do you have any tips on dealing with the unavoidable bulk that will occur in a corner that includes a binding seam?

  2. Lovely Easter and how wonderful for Bob’s Mom to be with you now. You are so thoughtful to have everything just right and ready for her to feel welcome. Mr. Mickey is such a sweet boy. Love the striped bunny…for next year. Blessings and Spring Delights.

  3. So glad that you had a beautiful day for Easter. I know Bob’s mom will enjoy being with you two and looking out at your wonderful nature sights.

  4. Happy Easter Connie. Your home and yard look beautiful and Micky looks so cute, as always. Your burn area sounds like a good one and I’m glad you are going to save the bulbs.

I love your new crane lawn ornament which reminds me of the stork who delivers babies. All that’s missing is a wicker basket hanging from his beak!
I really like how you used vertical strips for the bunny and will try it out for my Easter project for next year. Mr. Mickey is looking as cute as ever, I so enjoy the pictures you share. Kindest regards from Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada 🇨🇦

Happy Easter Connie from the other side of the Ocean.
I am just working on a barghello quilt and I think it is going to be nice when it is finished.
    Have a wonderful time

  7. Happy Easter to you and yours! Thanks for the wonderful pictures (yes I love the pink sides!) Spring is Sprung! Wish I had thought to make an Easter basket too!
    Thanks, j

    1. p. s. I have used the Color Scope Color selector and it is fabulous. I also have a tiny one that I can carry in my purse for shopping. I like a ton of colors in a quilt so this helps me tone it done (or perk it up) by seeing it “Bees eye”. Thanks for the reminder to put it back in my purse – my grands love to play with it.
