Triangle Flower Table Runner

I was at the grocery store last week and saw a table runner like this on the back of a quilt magazine so I am sure there is a pattern out there but…..it was easy to see that it was just equilateral triangles. So I went home and found this beautiful autumn border print in my stash and started cutting.
Update: Looking for a pattern for this? Triangle Frenzy Runner would be a great pattern to get!
Here is a photo of the sections sewn together. If you remember the 2 table toppers I showed here you can see it is the same design with a little twist.
I determined the size of my blocks by…….the border fabric design and……how much fabric I had. I’m not sure who I’m giving this too…..my daughter or my friend who already has a couple table runners made with the fabric.
I have been making this table topper for years and it is a favorite gift to make. Have you made any?
I also had a piece of matching tone on tone that I used for the border and sewed the binding on with my sewing machine.
I plan on making a couple more using fabrics that aren’t border prints which should be fun.
I used Superior Bottom Line thread in the top and bobbin for the free motion quilting in a beige color.
Most of the time I don’t sew a label on the back of table runners. I’m in luck, as the backing is muslin so I can write on it with a Micron pen which is my favorite tool for adding a permanent signature to my quilt projects.

Super
Many thanks for this post! I had seen the design a while ago and wanted to make one (or five), but couldn't figure it out. Your break away picture fixed all that and now I can make some. Thanks!
Very pretty! Fall colors are my favorite and you did a nice job with them. 🙂
Connie this is beautiful! The border print makes it look just like a garden walkway.

Love the idea, don't have any border fabric at the moment so will have to try to remember this.
I'm looking at the same magazine right now and have to say that I like your version much better. Love the idea of using border fabric. Guess I'll have to pull out some that I have and make one for myself.
I followed a link to your linky party, joined in, and now I'm a new follower. Your table runner looks fantastic – what a creative use for a border print!

I just made my first hexagonal runner recently. And this one with the twist? Very attractive, Connie. I'm sew inspired!

The border print makes such a unique table runner! It has been a while since I did a similar project… but I love the design and will likely get to doing again sometime soon!
HI!!!! I love it!!!! Wonderful idea!!!!!
I saw that on the back of the same magazine, probably! Thought about making it with the piles of striped borders I have, but I went with the tried-and-true straight versions.
That is a really neat design!
Stunning…
Very clever! Great way to use those border prints.
This is awesome! I may have to pull out a border print and give it a try.
