Walrus Paper Pieced Pillow

Last Sunday I showed you the paper pieced Walrus I was working on and now you get to see it as a pillow!

The Walrus can be found in the first issue of Paper Piecing 1/4″ along with 14 other great paper piecing patterns. The designs are by Janeen van Niekerk who also blogs at Quilt Art Designs.

  1. I love animals. My first adventure into paper piecing was an elephant. (My favorite!) I'm not into flowers but I do love sunflowers and plan to make Janeen's though it is more advanced than I am.

  2. Very cute. I imagine it is hard to find a place to sit with all the pillows you have taking up the couch.

  6. I just love your paper pieced Walrus! It's just adorable. I love the quilting that you did on the pillow! I have yet to try doing any paper piecing, but it's on my list. I've seen several really cute paper pieced animals so that's where I think that I would start.

  7. Wally is adorable. I have only made strings but I would love to learn more. thanks

  8. Love to receive your blog in my email box! Just a note on asthma…can be worsened by gluten intolerance…good reads are Grain Brain by Dr. Perlmutter (also a graduate of the College of Nutrition) and Wheat Belly by Dr. David Williams. Grains are hard to digest and cause lots of symptoms that get blamed on other issues…the wheat of today is not even remotely close to the wheat even just 40 years ago. Good health to you and your family! Thanks for the sewing inspiration!

  57. Already bought the magazine, just want to say your pillow is beautiful! Learned to paper piece through the Hugs and Kisses blog hop, and I think, besides cross-stitch, this is the most fun craft I have ever done. The magazine has many beautiful pieces (more than worth the price) and I cannot wait to get started…but other priorities first…thanks for sharing!
