This morning I decided to do a little paper piecing after watching the new class I signed up for at Craftsy. Combining batiks with regular fabrics is always fun.
There always seems to be waste with paper piecing but one of Peggy Martin’s classes will be using the scraps. So far I have just watched the beginning and the Pinwheel Polka (this block) lesson. I have to watch my classes between 2:00 am and 8:00 am……..I don’t want to run out of internet time like I did last month!
Here is a close up of one block section. It may look a little bland right now but…..I have plans!
Did you notice the mistake in the first picture of my block??? Funny how so many times I don’t notice a mistake until I see it in a photo. I took this photo BEFORE I sewed the sections together……too bad I didn’t notice that I forgot to turn a section. Thank goodness for a seam ripper!
I enjoy skill building classes and…….classes that are on sale! What I really want to make is the New York Beauty….that has been on my bucket list for a long time. Do you like paper piecing?? I love the precision but the mess (paper, scraps) drive me crazy. After doing paper piecing for a while I get in the mood for some fast and easy scrap stitching.
The class I just started is Quick Strip Paper Piecing by Peggy Martin.
I didn’t realize that you also get a copy of her Quick-Strip Paper Piecing book as part of the class. It is a 116 page book and sells on Amazon right now for $27.28! That really makes this class a bargain!
