I am really tickled to have my Roll, roll, cotton boll quilt finally finished! This was Bonnie Hunter’s mystery quilt for 2010 and the first one of hers that I did. Looking back through posts I saw that in 2010 I bought my first roll of Warm & Natural batting, my first big fabric order from a online shop…….lots of firsts!
I made my quilt a little smaller than the pattern, it is 68 x 68. You can find this quilt pattern in String Fling: Scrappy, Happy and Loving It!
In June of this year I pulled out this UFO and started putting the border together, you can see that post here.
I had some yardage of a small print on white that I used on the back of my quilt. Are you getting ready to do Bonnie Hunter’s next mystery quilt? It will start around Thanksgiving and is always fun.
She just finished a class in Bloomington, IL doing Cathedral Stars which is a free pattern on her site. Check it out!
Lots of small pieces but…….not as small as Sunny South.
Now I can’t wait to wash and dry this beautiful quilt!
Great finish, Connie! That is my favorite Bonnie Hunter pattern. I didn't do that mystery and have regretted it for a couple of years, so I FINALLY started it recently. Can't wait to finish it!

Connie, your RRCB is fabulous. I love the colors you used. I have two of Bonnie's mystery quilts as UFOs. I don't know what the problem is – all the blocks are made. ?? This quilt looks stunning and vintage all at the same time…like it could have been created generations ago. So happy to have UFO's completed. Congratulations and you are still enjoying all those 2010 "firsts". Creative Quilting Bliss…
yay, one more to take off the UFO list, looks great. planning on doing this year's mystery quilt too? I haven't followed Bonnie in a while, but my scraps have GROWN, so I kind of need to!

Oh, I love it. I bought fabrics for this…and lots of triangle papers, but have yet to start on it. I'm still needing to piece the border for her last years mystery quilt. So close, but no cigar as they say! LOL!!
RRCB is one of my favorite BH quilts, especially in the red/pink/cream colorway. I missed that one. Did Easy Street and Celtic Solstice. No more mysteries for me! That is, until it gets started in November; then I might change my mind…. Also did Cathedral Stars from a class; it's one of my favorites and has been set aside to be quilted for a very special occasion (yet to be identified).
Oh, Connie, it's perfectly lovely!! Bonnie Hunter's designs are really nice. I haven't made any of her BOMs but she has some great ideas. Your version is beautiful. Well done!

It always feels good to finish a UFO and this one is really pretty. I love the red but then again, that's one of my favorite colors. Well done Connie!
