I finished up the quilting and binding on my quilt and yesterday I took it out by the river. Thankfully there wasn’t much of a breeze so I was able to get some neat pictures. I am going to call the pattern Spinners.

Those telephone poles are actually used by my brother to pull his boat up on them. They work great for quilt photos too.

Notice the rock on top of the quilt, I had to use that to keep it from falling on the ground. I also got a closeup so you could see the quilting.

Here the quilt is lying on the ground overlooking the wall. It was neat to see the ice along the shore.

I first showed you the quilt top on Monday and there is also a giveaway for a bundle of the beautiful Heart’s Content batiks that Fat Quarter Shop has sponsored.  Be sure to enter.

Another closeup was taken inside, the colors aren’t as neat.

I used my GO! Baby Fabric Cutter and the 3-inch Half Square Triangle die to cut all the pieces. I think this was the first die I ever bought and it is still my favorite.

The blocks are very easy to make and here is one-quarter of the block.

The completed blocks finish at 12 inches and my quilt is 48 x 48. I was able to cut all my pieces out of the fat quarters and used the extras for the pinwheel blocks and then added strips around them.

  3. Wow! This quilt turned out beautiful and photographing it by the river was a great idea.

  4. wow love the pictures by the river. It seems way to early for ice, but at least there isn't 6 ft of snow!! That is really cool, I thought you had two different size triangle until I looked closer. That is one of my favorite dies too! I like to layer the fabrics with the background and color fabric face to face, then cut, all you need to do is peel of the pair and sew. Beautiful quilt!!
