Are you doing Bonnie’s mystery quilt this year? I really enjoy doing them and there really isn’t a race or time limit to complete it. I think I have done 5 of her mystery quilts, they are all quilted now but……it took me almost 3 years to finish Roll, Roll, Cotton Boll.
I have about half of the blocks in part 1 completed and will finish the rest of them before Friday when part 2 of the mystery quilt is posted.
By time this post is live I will be wearing my steel toe boots and helping Builder Bob on a job. Fortunately I only have to work one day and then he’ll have someone else helping him and I can stay home and quilt. I think the neighbor thought I was crazy when he saw me outside yesterday taking a picture of my feet!
My quilt room gets a little messy when I am working with the scraps. I brought in a bucket of blue/turquoise scraps and another one of pinks and used my AccuQuilt value die to cut the pieces. I ordered a couple new dies and had gotten a email that they were arriving last Friday (which surprised me). Well, by the end of the day the package still hadn’t showed up and then I got a email that the package would be here Monday…..that is today and I’m hoping it will be here when I get home this afternoon. One of the dies is the 2″ Finished Half Square Triangle which will make short work of cutting all the HST’s.
Did you notice the iron that I am using? I love it! I saw it last year in a antique shop and couldn’t resist buying it. I like the heavy weight of it and use it all the time. It really gets hot and you definitely don’t use the cotton setting with this iron.
