There is nothing better than a beautiful Christmas table runner on your coffee table, kitchen table, or on your kitchen island. If you have a Christmas charm pack, fabric scraps, or several mini charm packs, you’ll want to make this fast and easy table runner.

14″ x 34″

The size of my table runner is 14″ x 34″. I decided to make a smaller table runner that would fit our coffee table.

I never know where Mr. Mickey will be laying. As I was snapping this photo I saw him below the table and had to include him in this photo.

The great thing about table runners is that many times you can make them as big or small as you like.

It is fun to get my Christmas decorations out, little Santas, ornaments, and these cute little Christmas critters. We have a tall, skinny Christmas tree that doesn’t take up too much room.

My red leather couch actually looks red today! You can even see the Log Cabin mini table runner I am using on the end table. There is one on the other side of the couch also. That is another fast and easy quilt project and tutorial.

Using Leftover Fabric Scraps

The Christmas fabrics I used were leftovers from my Tis The Season table runner tutorial which I cut into 2½-inch squares. This was a perfect way to use my leftover scraps.

I also like to use muslin on the back of my table runners and other quilt projects and save the beautiful fabrics for other things like mug rugs and wall hangings. Do you do this?

Would you like to see what this table runner looks like in other fabrics and a larger size? Here is my original Charm Mix table runner. As you can see, I made a few changes to the design.

Like Phyllis, I’m making your split rail fence quilt. My sewing time has been limited lately due to house restoration work. This quilt is my big project for 2023. I love the design and when finished it will be auctioned at a charity event.
In the meantime, your Christmas table runner is so gorgeous. I’ll make one for myself and another as a gift for my best friend.
Connie, your kindness and generosity is so appreciated. It’s lovely see Mr Mickey pose for your photos and to hear about his walks.
Wishing you and your family a wonderful Christmas.

  3. Love hearing how much Mr. M is enjoying his new home! This looks like s good pattern to get my kids started on – they love sewing – mostly because it’s a machine and makes noise! Thanks!

  4. I like the table runner. I never thought of making one for the coffee table before. Thanks for the idea.

Love the Christmas Charm Table runner. But enjoyed the background of your how and yard even more. Thanks for sharing the view.

  7. I really like how you stacked 3 square units and 5 square units instead of zig zagging 3 square units, very pretty topper.

Connie, I have enjoyed seeing all your table runners, and tutorials. Such works of art and imagination, colors and Mr Mickey. I am in the middle of making the split “Rail Fence” quilt
Have 50 blocks made., a lot cut to be sewn together yet. Finding time right now is a challenge to joggle between Christmas decoratoins and an aging husband, Dr appointments, company coming after Christmas. Getting into my sewing room is a far off dream. I have a birthday coming up soon too, a week before Christmas. I will be 83, and still can see to sew, and not giving that up for no one. I do enjoy all your project you put out there for us. Bless you and a very Merry Christmas to you and yours.

    1. My goodness, you are busy Phyllis! I can’t wait to see your Rail Fence quilt. After the holidays you’ll be able to have time to sew, right now just enjoy the holidays!
