The colors in my Snail’s Trail runner make it perfect for Valentine’s day.

We got about 12 inches of snow over the weekend and I had fun taking pictures outside by the river. This was taken yesterday afternoon as the
sun was setting. Isn’t it beautiful!

We have a tree by the river that sheds seeds all winter when the wind blows, I liked the background for my table runner.

I used my AccuQuilt GO! Big Electric Fabric Cutter and the GO! Big Snail’s Trail die. I forgot to take a picture when I was cutting out the red/white blocks……I think I was in a hurry to put the block together. It was really fast and easy to make the blocks, I don’t think I have ever made this block before…..using the die made quick work of cutting all the different sized pieces.

I will be participating in the AccuQuilt GO! Big Blog Hop that will be happening later this month. I’ll keep you posted about it and my day will be Saturday February 28th. You’ll get to see all kinds of neat projects. See the fabrics on the die…..those are from the Downtown Abbey collection by Andover Fabrics which I’ll be working with.

It is so much fun to take pictures when the wind isn’t blowing.

I took the following photos the day before in the morning. The temperature was just starting to drop and ice was coming down the river. We had all of the Canadian Geese right in front of the ice.

It was so neat to see all of them and the sun shining made the river looks so blue.

The photo is a little blurry but do you notice there is only one goose watching me?

By the next day the river was pretty well covered with ice along the shore.

Same photo, just a closer view of the ice and…..all the dirt on top of it. It is never, ever safe to walk on the ice on the Mississippi river because of the current.

How do I get your pattern. I do not have an Accuquilt so would be cutting it by rotary cutter. Can you help me with this.

  2. The runner is great and I'm sure that goose was wondering if you had any goodies for him. 🙂

Fabulous Red Banner for February. It really caught my eye. This Snail runner is lovely and really looks great in the snow and ice. That one goose watching you is probably the great protector of the rest.

  6. Your runner is beautiful and the pictures of it are stunning too!

  7. Very pretty runner. Looks like the river is getting pretty close to being frozen across. 🙂

  8. It's so interesting to see how the river changes so drastically with the weather.

Love that runner. I just finished a flimsy with a similar block (solid square in center instead of 4-patch). The accucut must make that much easier to make.

I love the way Snails Trail develops in the round. That would make a nice bed runner, too.

  12. it looks great! I had fun with the die too…. kind of want to make more with it….. send some snow our way, my kids haven't had any snow this season at all. They really want a day off from school!
