Scattered in different colorways
Yesterday I showed you my Scattered quilt pattern in blues and browns. I have a couple other colorways that you might like. Both of these are on the cover of my pattern and were made without a border. I used a variety of batiks that I had in my stash and black batik for the sashing.
This is my rainbow colored Scattered quilt and is actually the first one I made. I have a couple friends that have been waiting and waiting for this pattern. I used batiks (surprise, surprise) for the blocks and muslin for the sashing. Many times I mix batiks, muslin and regular quilt cottons together.
This tree is a perfect place to hang the quilts.
So……can you see how different this quilt can look just by changing the binding and colors? Which do you like better? There is another colorway a little further down. If you missed my original post about the Scattered pattern you can find it here.
When I went out yesterday evening to take the photos guess what I saw…….geese….lots of them and babies!
I love watching the geese but prefer to see them out in the water. They are a little hard to see but there are about six different families of them in the photo.
Here is my latest Scattered quilt which I just finished piecing last week. This one is entirely made from red and burgundy fabrics that have been in my stash for…….gosh…..years and years. Believe it or not…….there isn’t a batik in the group! This quilt is also larger. My intentions are for it to fit a twin bed with a good overhang on it. More on this when it is quilted.
Anyway, I still need to figure out the hashtags and all the other things you can do with Instagram. One thing I just found is this cute little widget! I have one on the right side of my blog about half way down and it has a slide show of the photos I post on Instagram. Follow FreemotionByTheRiver on Instagram and if you have any tips for using it please let me know!
