I think it is always fun to try and do a mystery quilt along and…..only use fabrics in my stash. Since I have been doing Bonnie Hunter’s mystery quilts for several years I have stocked up on neutrals, black/white and white/blacks plus…..other colorful pieces.
I was able to pull 20 different reds from…….not the fabrics on the wall but….my scrap boxes.
I keep my scrap boxes downstairs in a storage room right now but…..when my new studio is done….I’ll have a perfect spot for these and…..they might get used more often. I really like the narrow container I have been using but needed a few more. Of course I can’t find the exact size and I’m like many of you……I like my containers the same size. The one on the right with the purple handles came from Menard’s yesterday and……I think I’ll go buy some more of them. They were only $4.99 and are a little bigger. I already threw away the labels so I’m not sure what size they are.
My black scrap box doesn’t have a lot in it and…..I learned something…..ironed, folded fabric takes less room. You probably already knew that. One of these days….I’ll have to either make tons of string blocks or….iron and fold my scraps.
I finished up part 2 of Allietare yesterday. I really like the colors so far!
I’m linking up with Bonnie’s Monday Link-Up.
I really had a lot of fun sharing my New Studio post with all of you and have really enjoyed all your comments. Builder Bob finished the soffit and is now covering the 2 posts in the room. I am hoping to start painting by Wednesday if I get all the quilt projects I am working on finished. Wish me luck!
