This has been a crazy week! Remember the old saying….”It comes in threes”…..well first my printer quit. I needed to finish some printing so off to Costco we went. I bought a HP Envy 5661 and so far I like it. There is a Instant Ink program available for this printer so I signed up. Some people might not like the program as HP will keep track of how many times I print a page (that is how your cost is figured). I’ll let you know how I like it.
The next morning I did a lot of laundry and when I put the clothes in the dryer……it made this loud, awful noise and…..smelled hot. Builder Bob even came running in to see what happened. He got online and checked and it sounded like it was the motor. The dryer is only 4 years old but a new motor is $150 and takes about 3 hours to install on your own. Ugh….. Did you know the life expectancy of a washer and dryer is now only 4-6 years?? They used to last 15 years! Off to Menards we went and bought a new one. I didn’t buy a fancy one and it doesn’t matter if it matched the washer as they are in the laundry room.
Monday morning we got a call that the refrigerator at one of our rentals had quit. It was 12 years old…..time to buy a new one. Fortunately we were able to buy one and get it delivered that day as who wants to be without a refrigerator around the holidays…or any time.
Yesterday nothing broke……thank goodness! I did get the Amazon Fire tablets that I order the granddaughters in the mail and I’ve been working on setting them up. (I also bought one for me). It was very easy to set mine up as I already have a Amazon account.
I am so glad I bought the kid-proof cases for them as I think the size would be a little awkward and I can see how easy it would be to drop them. I read that these are also great for older people….guess I should have gotten one for myself. I also bought sim cards for extra memory. I have them installed and the software updated but……I haven’t registered them as I think I need to do that with my daughter’s account. You also have to put in credit card info…..oh boy. I want to make sure there is a way to keep the kids from buying things. I didn’t buy the FreeTime for them but maybe I should have. They will come over on Christmas day and I want them to be able to play with them.
It is raining here and the rivers are rising which seems strange at this time of year but we’ll be okay. Our temperatures are supposed to reach the 60s today, normally there would be snow or at least cold, cold temperatures.
Fabri-Quilt, Inc. sponsored a giveaway of a fat quarter bundle of Peace on Earth and the winner was Betsy. Congratulations and I will be emailing you! Thanks for all the great comments also a big thanks to Fabri-Quilt
