Batik Twinkle Stars IKEA Algot storage systems

I dug into my stash and pulled out some beautiful blue batiks and made several Twinkle Star blocks. You can get the pattern for this neat block.
Angela showed this block for the January Rainbow Scrap Challenge 2016. This block is so neat!!! I have always had fun taking part in her challenge although I missed it last year. Check it out as it is always a lot of fun and a great way to use scraps! I will be linking up on Saturday.
I have decided to use batik scraps from all of the quilt and projects I have done using Island Batik batiks. This is a 6 inch block, I made two blue ones and also a 12 inch block.
I pulled out my AccuQuilt GO! Electric cutter machine and dies to make my blocks in the 2 different sizes. I used the AccuQuilt GO! 55410 Triangles in a Square 2″ finished squares for the 6 inch blocks. For the corners I cut 1 1/2″ squares and then I added 1 1/4″ strips around the block. For the 12 inch blocks I used the AccuQuilt GO! 55409 Triangles in a Square 4″ finished squares and 3 1/2″ squares for the corners and added 2 1/2″ strips around the block.
I am using 2 Ikea Algot storage systems to hold my AccuQuilt GO! Electric cutter machine. I also bought casters for them.There is also a tall Ikea Algot system that holds 6 baskets, a couple of these would make a great place for a ironing board. I bought the first one last summer online and when I tried to buy another one at Christmas……the shipping was over $400!!! Of course I didn’t buy it and a couple weeks ago I went back to look at them again and….surprise…..the shipping was about $15. I bought it! Now I have all the info here in case I want to order more.
Work on my new studio has come to a standstill as I have quilts that need to get finished. This has worked out well as Builder Bob is now working on his….teeny, tiny man cave…..I am so glad my room is a LOT bigger!

Love your new cutting station! I wish we had an Ikea near us – they have such unique items. I couldn't resist the Twinkle Stars either – they're so pretty, especially in blue. Love yours in batiks!!!

You know how much I love Blues and these Island Batiks are BLUEtiful. Every single seam is stitched sew perfectly! Those IKEA baskets are very smart…and portable. I hope Builder Bob shares his new space with us. Happy Quiltng Dear…

I agree that this was a very neat block and I'm pretty happy with my versions too. Good idea to use your batik scraps in all of the blocks. Mine will be a combination of whatever I find in the scrap bin but I do have a lot of batiks too.
