I hope to do the quilting on this block soon. I am working on a deadline of 5 quilts that must be done by the first of February…..number 3 should get ready to quilt and possibly quilted today. These will go to Quilt Market this spring and be in the Island Batik booth. I just had to take a little break the other day and piece this.
I am using some beautiful Island Batik fabrics for the first block in Leah Day’s Machine Quilting Block Party. Taking part in this will push me to try new free motion quilting designs.
We have been seeing some beautiful ice on the Mississippi river recently. My dad says he has never seen this before. We had warm weather then cold and the ice came down the river and eventually was forced to stop. You should have heard the noise!! I took some pictures of one of my spring quilts yesterday down by the river…..sneak peek in the corner.
This may look solid but this is a river you never want to try and walk across. A couple years ago we saw coyotes cross over from the islands and Illinois….that was so neat!
I put several clamps on my quilt before taking pictures as I didn’t want to lose it……but wouldn’t that make a neat photo! Runaway quilt on the river!
