Batik Table Topper

15″ x 22½”

I never seem to get tired of making table toppers….especially out of batiks. I had a little bundle of batiks from Island Batik and I decided to do a quick and easy project with them.

The pieces were about 3 inches wide and 10 inches in length so I cut 18 of them into 3″ x 8″ pieces.

Batik Table Topper Tutorial
  • Sew the pieces together with a 1/4 inch seam allowance
  • Sew 3 pieces together for each block
  • Make a total of 6 blocks

Rotate some of the blocks as shown below.

Stitch the blocks together – 3 blocks in each row.

Quilt as desired. I decided to do a simple free-motion stitch with some loops.

I had a green batik in my stash that worked perfectly for the binding.

The finished table topper is 15″ x 22 1/2″.

It is always fun to take a picture or two out on the deck. A little pot of flowers looks perfect on the topper.
