It is another day on the Island Batik Planes, Trains & Automobiles blog hop. Today the collection that is showcased is Desert Rose.

I used these beautiful fabrics for a quilt that was shown at Fall Market and also for a couple table runners. You can find the pattern for Hopscotch here or you can order the fabrics and pattern directly from Island Batik.

I also used Desert Rose in several table runners and a tutorial which you can read about here.

I got carried away making the Drunkard’s Path block and ended up with enough for two different table runners. Can you see the difference in the colors?

Click on the photo for a closeup of the quilting that I did with my vintage 15-91 Singer sewing machine.

I also made this cute little pouch from Desert Rose.

  14. What beautiful colors these are, like a jewel box. As always your work is beautiful. And prolific! How do you find the time? What I find most interesting in this pattern is the dark (black?) frames around the blocks. Most often I see a very structured dark outline, like window panes. This is much more attractive. The randomness of the frame position give great dimension and movement to the piece.

  15. The batiks make a beautifully rich quilt! Your other projects are gorgeous, as well, right down to the little pouch! Well done!
