I am excited to share with you this beautiful batik quilt that I made using Wendy’s new book Creative New Quilts & Projects and the Sweet Georgia Peach collection from Island Batik.
The Creative New Quilts & Projects blog hop continues today for Wendy Sheppard’s new book and you will get to see two different quilts made by Island Batik ambassadors.
The collection of batiks from Island Batik that I used is called Sweet Georgia Peach.
Each quilt in the book is shown in full color and the directions are very clear and easy to follow.
It was very easy to sew all the blocks together. I don’t think you can see the pins but I had to pin each section to my wall so I could see the design before I sewed it all together. Once I finished this quilt I told Builder Bob it was time for my new design wall. If you missed that post you can see it here.
Wendy designed this quilt using a precut 10″ stack of batiks while I used fat quarters. Every quilt in her book is beautiful and would be fun to make.
In this photo you can see the backing which is a dark green batik
Remember to visit Marlene Oddie, KISSed Quilts to see her quilt and also have another chance to win Wendy’s book. You can purchase it HERE. If you would like a signed copy, you can email Wendy for it. Be sure and stop by Wendy Sheppard’s blog Ivory Spring as she is sharing photos and information about her book each day also.
