Yesterday I shared the Coral Reef Swirls mini and today I’m showing what I did with some of the leftovers. This is really a mini…..in fact…..it is a mug rug!
You’ll be seeing all kinds of mini projects this month here and on other ambassador blogs. Minis are always a favorite of mine because…..they are fast!
I just cut strips off of several of the 5 inch squares. Some strips were 1 1/2″ wide and some were 1 1/4″ wide. Then I just sewed them together to create a striped fabric. I cut a couple pieces on the diagonal and the others just in strips. Then I decided to use some of the cream batik background as sashing and joined everything together. I love working on little impulse projects!
The Creative New Quilts & Projects blog hop continues today for Wendy Sheppard’s new book. Be sure and visit Joan to see her Island Batik quilt!
