En Provence Part 2 and Sadie in the Snow
This post may contain affiliate links which won’t change your price but will share a commission.Yesterday we had our first snow and….our satellite internet was out all day. Sometimes that can be a blessing – I did lots of cleaning in my quilt studio and setup my new backdrop in the spare bedroom. I’ll be sharing that later this week.
Anyway…..no internet so I decided to work on part 2 of En Provence as thankfully I had downloaded the directions. Magenta fabric…..I couldn’t believe that I didn’t have any! Actually, I had one very small piece and I didn’t want to go buy any so I looked at my batiks and found a perfect one.
It took me just a few minutes to cut my pieces for En Provence Part 2 as I used my AccuQuilt Electric Cutter and the 3″ Triangle in a Square die. I was really tickled that we were making Triangle in a Square blocks as I really like this block and using the die makes it so easy.
After I finished the triangle in a square sections I started wondering if I should just go with a complete batik quilt so pulled out 2 neutrals for the blocks in part 1. I had the scrappy blocks done but I am sure I’ll find another project that I can use them for. When I sorted my fabrics I also realized I have very little purple in my regular quilt fabrics but lots in my batiks.
Like any quilter…..I just had to play with the blocks a little… I can’t wait for part 3 of En Provence!

Yesterday we had our first snow and we found out that obviously Sadie has been in snow before and….likes it! She rolled around a couple times. Doesn’t she look cute in her little sweater…..she still does not like to look at the camera.
Just a few more because she is so cute! Like I said…..she doesn’t like to look at the camera.
Holiday mug rugs in the snow, mug rugs are a perfect way to use leftovers. I opened my studio window and put them outside. It was still snowing! You can check out some of these mug rugs and tutorials.
Later I put the mug rugs on the window sill with some candles for a little Christmas decorating in my studio. You can even see me taking the picture.

Looks like your little puppy is enjoying the snow very much. The star is beautiful and the mugrugs are so festive. They look great on the windowsill.

Thanks for showing the cutting die loaded with fabric. I have never seen how you load it and have wondered about how much waste there would be. Show more of this cutting part. I’m interested but don’t want to waste fabric. Love the little mug rugs too.

Sadie looks tres chic in her girlie sweater. Love your batik blocks you are creating. Yes I have no doubt you will find a use for your original block. Winter is here and your snow looks as cold s it is here…thankfully no snow for now.

Sadie is just too cute in that little sweater! Love your choice of a batik for the magenta. I have all of my pieces cut and about 40% of my En Provence blocks actually sewn. But since it’s supposed to get bitter cold the rest of the week, I’m guessing a little time will be spent in my sewing room. First task however is making 2 doll sized sleeping bags.
Love your Batik colors together! If I had more Batiks, I would have used them too. I had a hard time choosing fabrics and am still undecided on a couple, but I am moving ahead anyways. Looking forward to seeing your progress.
Well, it looks like winter is catching up with you. The batiks look really pretty in that block and Sadie is adorable in her new sweater.

I am at a standstill on the magenta fabric. I am using civil war fabrics and have not found a perfect color. I love magenta and have one piece but don’t think it works too well. Might have to look for something more red.

The mug rugs look so pretty in the snow. Sadie is just precious. We have cats, which I love but I would like a little companion dog because, well, you know. Cats are so independent. Your batiks are beautiful.
The magenta blocks look great, Connie. Sadie’s sweater is adorable. I like how she has her paw up as though it is too cold to put it in the snow. Glad she enjoyed her outing in it.
