Today I am sharing a small wall hanging made with the Jacob’s Ladder quilt block which is from Fat Quarter Shop’s  “Classic and Vintage Series”.

Jacobs Ladder

There is a Quilt Along going on so be sure and visit the Jolly Jabber today to learn more about this block.

This wall hanging took no time at all to make and uses just 4 Jacob’s Ladder quilt blocks. I chose to use batiks for my blocks. I thought you might like to see just how easy this block is to make. This could also be used as a table topper.

Jacob’s Ladder

The size is 34″ x 34″

The background fabric is also a batik that I have had for quite some time.

Kimberly from the Fat Quarter Shop also shares a video on the Jacob’s Ladder quilt block. If you are a visual learner you will enjoy it.

I added a small border of the background fabric and then a larger border using a brown batik that was very similar to the one I used for my blocks.

It took no time at all the finish this and then I took it to the park for some photos since the weather was nice. Today it has turned cold again.

The blue and brown is beautiful together! You are the batiks queen as i don’t know of any other blogger that i subscribe to that uses this fabric line. I look forward to your many projects. I recently bought some batiks and am using it with an appliqued butterfly. It’s going to be pretty! 🙂

  6. I adore that color combination of blue and brown – and that background is really elegant. The background gives it so much more personality than a solid color would have. Jacob’s Ladder is such a pretty block.

  7. It looks intricate, but seeing it laid out like this shows how easy it is to do. Thank you.

    1. Not this time Darlene, I’m using up some batiks that I have had for some time. Thanks!
