I decided to make the crib quilt which is 37.5″ x 37.5″ and uses just 4 of the Snail Trail blocks. This block looks hard but takes no time at all to make.
Snail Trail Quilt Along
Here is my Snail Trail quilt on my design wall, I used 2 different dark green batiks and 2 neutral color batiks for my blocks and muslin for the background.
I used just 4 fat quarters plus my background fabric for the blocks. This will also look great on our dining room table.
For the backing, I just chose something in my stash that had a tan design.
Be sure to visit the Jolly Jabber to see other great examples of this block.
There is also a Snail Trail pattern available in 4 different sizes from Fat Quarter Shop.
The quilt made by Fat Quarter Shop uses the Snowman Gatherings III by Primitive Gatherings for Moda fabrics. There was a 65.5 x 89.5 quilt kit available

Snail Trail is the perfect name for this interesting quilt. Lovely Dear. Continuing my Prayers for you and your family. <3
A lovely version of the quilt!
love the movement in this piece! great work!
What a beautiful quilt! Love the colors
I have always loved this block. Love yours
I’ve always loved the look of the Snail Trail block and finally made a queen sized quilt a couple of years ago using a variation of the block. I used the Eleanor Burns “pig tail” version that uses a square in the center instead of the 4 patch. Now I want to do the traditional version after seeing your baby quilt.
